He was born in Enna, October 15 in 1933. He graduated from the Art Institute of Palermo, making his debut as a young painter but by focusing, as a result, all his artistic studies on sculpture.
From 1964 to 1990 Prestipino presents an exhibition almost every year.
Since 1998 begins for the artist a new artistic phase of admixture between his art and the mythological poetry of Domenico Fasciano (professor at the University of Montreal), poet and connoisseur of Sicily, who in 1999 published the book “A son of Enna Gesualdo Prestipino”.
His works are in museums, galleries and private collections in Italy and abroad. In 2003 in Enna is revealed to the public the bronze monument "U carusu da surfara".
In July 2004 in the city of Pergusa (EN), is inaugurated a large bronze group retracting the "Rape of Proserpina".
Among the various museum exhibitions we mention the "Guttuso Museum'' where is the original plaster of the sculptor group "The rape of Proserpina", and the MUSEUM, Observatory of Contemporary art in Sicily where there is the bronze "Figure", both in Bagheria and the MacS Museum of Catania.
He lives and works in Pergusa (Enna).
