The MacS is located within the Small Abbey of the Monastery of San Benedetto, Via Crociferi, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

This historic building, given by the grace of form and overall balance architect Giovanni Battista Vaccarini is connected to the Great Abbey through the famous Arch of San Benedetto.

In harmony with the beautiful setting in which it is located and with beautiful frescoes of the Church of St. Benedict, annexed to the Monastery, the MacS combines the architectural beauty of the eighteenth century to contemporary modernity.

The museum is, in fact, the union line that starts from the distant Baroque painting tradition to arrive at the contemporaneity and whose objective is to promote cultural heritage of Sicily, often creating cultural associations with equally prestigious historical and artistic containers, and promote awareness of Italian and international contemporary art, giving space to young talents and established artists.
